when i took in the turtle, it was only 4inches and it had a huge, gaping, gut leaking, infected chunk missing from its side. for about two months i cleaned and watched the turtle very carefully. its been almost a year since i took him in and as you can see, hes fine now. hes 7 inches long(shell length) and new bone and scutes have grown back. the cause of the wound is most likely a bite from a 15inch adult male that it shared a small pond with. it was a really bad enclosure and the 15 incher was released.
