Neil-- Freezing sounds like a likely culprit to me. This wouldn't have left any telltake signs. I couldn't exactly tell by your description... but they do have accidents and drown. This would be unlikely with two. I think your first guess is right. Your temperatures were definitely prime for that if the mud wasn't deep enought. --Maxx
