You actually bring up a valid point, that has been argued for many years...should turtles or any animal be kept as pets? Everyone has their own opinion...I keep turtles AND help protect wild turtles, and educate people. There are some who keep pets for attention, status symbols, etc..and care nothing about their well being, nor attempt to learn about their husbandry, those are the people who dont deserve to have them.
