I know it's kind of hard when they're young, but mine is about 3 1/2 years old, so it should be sexable. My guess would be female, but I have no other snapper to compare it to. :I've read where reseachers found that they don't reach sexual maturity for 15 yrs.You might be able to raise several hatchlings up and be able to make a guess by different rates of growth. The Houston Zoo said it's hard to tell untill they get 15" shell size. So my guess is it's early to tell. Common Snappers are easier to sex. Just my opinion. Steve
