runninreps-- I just got off the phone with John Richards, of Loggerhead Acres. (I wanted to verify that I'm telling you the correct information.) Alligator Snappers are a whole different ballgame than Common Snappers when it comes to growth rates, sexual maturity, and sex determination. You can forget about sexing these guys until they're AT LEAST 12 inches long. Until then, you're just guessing. And looking at your photo, it seems like you have a few years yet. I know this is frustrating when you own a young one but they are SLOW growers. --Maxx
