:I just bought a home and plan to build a pond in the backyard. This week I'm grading the yard and taking out 2 trees. On Sunday I'm putting in a vinyl privacy fence. Then my pal is going to lend me a bobcat to dig a 2,500+ gallon pond. I plan to add some gravel and clay under parts of the liner that are most apt to be ripped by the snapper(s). On one end of the pond I'm creating a 4'X 4'X 2' (deep) section of pond that will have a deck over it. I intend for this area to be the snapper brumation cavern during the winter. I'm looking into a fake rock waterfall feature for the back corner of this pond. My girlfriend is going to get a yellow female alligator snapper from Louisiana in a few months. My brothers may also be getting yellow alligator snappers from Louisiana also. I figure that no more than 2-3 females and 1-2 males will fit in the pond. When it gets done I'll post some pics.
