The ones that are sold at Wal-Mart and other store like that are Hand Warmer and not heat packs designed for shipping of live animals. They reach to HIGH of temperatures and do not last long enough. Most of those only last 4-8 hours and reach 140+ degrees F. where the ones designed for shipping animals reach 110 degrees. Shipping an animal with one of the handwarmers is not a good idea. It will heat the animal up too high, then it will be using too much of the oxygen in the box, and when it cools down it will make the animal get that much colder. An animal going from 140 degrees +/- body temp to cold is enough to kill it in itself. I would suggest doing some research and hopefully you will find someone that can sell you one. Try your local tropical fish store.

:...like Wal-Mart or someplace. I ONLY need (1) one and do not want to have it shipped. Are there any stores that carry them?Unless somebody wants to sell me one (1) without charging $5. for shipping.
