Flying with animals...

I need to travel with my Marbled Geckos, I'm flying from Detroit MI to Orlando FL on the 15th for a much needed vacation. Since I am in the proccess of thining my ranks so to speak, I've found a reputable breeder there who will take them, but I've got to get them there first. I have two questions;

1)Should I ship them as opposed to trying to travel with them?

2)If I do travel with them, how do I do that? I can't keep them in a carry on, can I?
