It is illegal to ship turtles via the US mail. Most people use one of the various door-to-door services such as UPS or Airborne Express, which are legal. UPS doesn't normally knowingly accept live animal shipments, although there are exceptions to this. Airborne Express does specifically allow turtles to be shipped.
