What packaging for airline shipment?

I am shipping some ball pythons tomorrow via USAirways. Is the standard styrofoam box used to ship animals through UPS, etc. the correct container for airline shipments? All the airline could tell me was that it had to be a "rigid" container. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
