Law Re Nile Monitor in San Diego Area

Hi,
This march I'm moving from St. Louis, MO to San Diego. I intend to live in La Jolla or Del Mar. I own a adult nile monitor. I was wondering what the laws regarding large monitors are in San Diego (city? county?). (I'm obviously not sure whether I can find an apartment where I can keep such a "beast" -- but worring about that is meaningleas if large monitors are illegal anyway.)
