All you have to do is go downtown to the Board of Equalization office on Ash street. Apply for a free sellers permit (not a business license) and ask them to put you on a yearly schedule so you don't have to report every month. Keep a record of your sales and its that easy. You can claim a loss 3 out of 5 years and then you have to show a profit or they consider it a hobby and not a business. I had a loss 2 years in a row and then a gain so I did'nt get the full benefit, but at least I'm legal. You should go to the county recorders office and get a fictitous business name statement and check with your city hall for the city you live in to see if you need to buy a business license. I'm in Lemon Grove and they made me come right in and pay $45, again I'm trying to be legal (it sucks).
Good Luck
