Visiting San Diego, any suggestions?

I will be in San Diego next week and should have a few free days. Needless to say, I would like to visit some snake exhibits. Is the San Diego zoo worth visiting? Any herp breeders worth seeing (one never knows when the buying impulse will strike)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. E-mails would be preferable in case I forget to check this site. Thanks
