Bushmaster myths

Dear All

I am currently developing a film on bushmaster pitvipers (Lachesis spp) for National Geographic Television. Can anyone help on any of the following:

i) I am looking for any interesting myths, stories or beliefs connected to this mysterious serpent. I am particularly interested in beliefs which indigenous people of Latin America may have about bushmasters.

ii) What traditional methods do people use to treat bushmaster bite?

iii) How would I go about locating any indians who have actually been bitten by a bushmaster and survived to tell the story?
