We have a pollywog who is about to make the big step to froghood
and we need to know what sort of changes to make in his tank. He
is currently in a half-full 5 gallon with an undergravel filter,
a big rock (about 3 sq inches of dry area)and a floating plastic
plant he likes to sit on. He currently has 2 apple snails (golf
ball sized) as roommates. We are a little worried he will need more
land, but he is described as an aquatic frog found in deep water, so
I keep going back and forth. An additional problem: once his tail is
absorbed we are supposed to switch to feeding him crickets and suchlike.
Crickets, I assume, would need some dry land prior to being lunch.
If the pig frog doesn't need dry land, are there some alternate
food sources that would share his habitat requirements?
