questions about rosy boas & Vision Reptile Enclosures

hi,
if i can convince my parents to let me get a snake then i need more info on them.i've heard Rosy boas are really great pets and i've heard Vision Reptile Enclosures are very good cages for snakes,if they are what model should i get?is shipping safe for a snake?i found a place in GA(i'm in AL)that has rosy boas and if i can get one i think thats the closest place,i havent found anything on the net in AL.are there any web sites where i can get more info on rosy boas?i really need info on what things need to be in their cage like what type lighting,how large(deep)their water dish needs to be,exactly how big do they get.and can they eat live mice?i've heard mice can somtimes hurt snakes.thanks,
