Linda, sand boas, like most snakes,are variable in regards to size. Some females are incredible eaters and will grow in both length and weight just like some of the big ones your talking about. In my experience, all my biggest kenyans all were rat eaters. Also, feeding more than 10-14 days would be a better way to reach larger sizes. The kenyans will let you know if they can handle larger, more frequent meals. They will either eat, or they wont. Remember also, the liklehood for larger litters would correspond to larger females.
PS... In relation to your 2 1/2 yr old anery female, I have a 2 1/2 yr old female...her weight is over 400 grams.( rat eater) Hope this helps...........Ken
