I'm on the east coast...central massachusetts really. As a kid I was a catcher of turtles, frogs, toads, and snakes.

Since becoming a big fan of the "Herptiles", the nostalgia of some of the animals I'd see as a kid is kinda calling to me.
I mean normally the animals you've seen all your life are just so dull to you.

But I'd love to get some animals I've had as a kid.
For example, I was thinking an american toad would be cool to keep as a pet.
Or some of the snakes might be cool. I love smooth green snakes (VERY pretty coloring) and ESPECIALLY red belly snakes. A red belly breeding program would rock! There were TONS of em where I grew up. I was thinking of trying to find some this spring.

Heh, this winter at the school where I work some common garter snakes came out of hibernation early because they were bitten by mice or something. They were found slithering around the school cafeteria :)
So I adopted them in my classroom until its warm enough for a release. I don't find garters very attractive, but they're really interesting watching them eat. Can't get enough guppies... One of them is SO amazingly calm when I pick it up, I'm kinda afraid of doing a full release. Its almost like its domestic. I was thinking a soft release would be best otherwise it might not know what to eat.
