It's been 6 days since i got my adult pair of Kenyan Sand Boas. Both were in shed when i got them and my male shed the other day. He shed in pieces and got everything but his head. His eye caps are off but there is still shed in the middle of his head towards the snout. Female hasn't shed yet but should today or tommorow. THese are my first sand boas and I didn't know they can have shedding problems so i've added a humid box which the male has been in all day. Hopefully the female sheds a little better. Now I really want to take the rest of the shed off the male BUT, I've already taken a tad off and REALLY REALLY don't want to stress them anymore than I have. TOo bad they came when they were shedding. I wish they had more time to settle in. I won't try feeding until both have finished shedding and have had a few more days to settle in without me bothering them anymore than i have. Anyone tihnk i should attempt to remove the the shed on the male or since he's in the moist paper towel box it should come off on its own. I never though a desert species would have shedding problems but oh well. I haven't had problems with shedding for many many years because i usually keep my snakes fairly humid(pythons and boas)..my colubrids NEVER have problems. I guess i have some more to learn about sand boas....Thanks!!!
