I was also told by the breeder that snakes only get mites from other snakes. And since the snake I'm getting is captive bred and free of mites, I don't have to worry unless I get another snake (this will be my first).

Thanks for the suggestions however. If by some crazy chance I do get mites, I'll try it despite it being expensive. :)
