Cresteds don't require crickets every day. Crickets a few times a week would be great. If your animals need some bulking up, then crickets are much better then babyfood. Try to put a little calcium on acouple of the crickets while you are feeding Your Cresteds.
Good luck

:Awhile back I wrote to the forum on advice on how to get my Cresties to eat bugs. For those that didn’t read the post (link is at the bottom) my Cresties both have one eye smaller than the other so I don’t think they see so well. I did get some excellent advice that I will try as well what I did tonight

:Mango just ate 9 or 10 crickets. I bought some 1/4 inch (they look 1/2 inch to me) crix today. I had this crazy idea of holding the cricket in front of him by it legs so he could see it wiggle around but it wouldn't run away. After a few minutes and a few licks Mango ate the cricket. Now we have it down to I hold the cricket as close to the end of its abdomen as I can; Mango licks it a couple of times then he chomps down on the cricket. He is still learning not to bite Mommies fingers, good thing for me it doesn't hurt.

:I tried to the same with Kiwi Rana but he hasn't caught on yet but I am sure he will. I even tried putting baby food on the crix and at on point the cricket was stuck to his nose. I wish I had a picture of that since it was so very cute.

:I know this is long I am just so excited, one of my babies finally ate some bugs.

:My only Question is how many crickets should a 5 inch (not counting tail) Crestie eat a day?

:Christy
