In Reply to: Is a reptarium suitable for cresteds? posted by jusmebabe on October 18, 2002 at 20:57:08:
I'd say go ahead, if you can provide the proper conditions. My cresteds do fine in enclosures with screen sides. Potted plants, a humid hide box, and misting once or twice a day if possible should keep your humidy requirements at a safe enough range. If your area has a very dry climate, you might consider a couple soft trays or some kind of covering over a few sides. I have a reptarium that I intend to house 1.3 cresteds in soon, so I don't know for sure yet, but I've heard that crickets can chew holes in the material that reptariums are made of, so you may want to try cup feeding to keep this from happening. Hope that helps. :)
:I am interested in getting a couple of cresteds and needed to know if they can thrive in a reptarium. I used them for chameleons and have a couple left and thought they would work.
:Thanx for any info you can provide...
