Between 75 - 77 is good in the warmer months. Of course cresteds aren't going to breed well in low temperatures because it signals them to stop breeding. They do need a rest period. They don't eat as much because their body slows down, it doesn't mean that it is not good for them. 70 - 72 or lower is a good temperature to start preparing them to breed. I don't think 70 is even low enough for them to stop breeding. 70 is fine for the day temperature during the colder months, it is normal. At night they can handle temperatures as low as 50 degrees.
Both of my cresteds tanks now are 70 - 72 and drop to 68 at night and their fine.
