I know you can get a drip system. It is a bottle that sticks to the side of your terrarium and drops water. You can control the dripping to slow or fast. You could put this above the water dish. Maybe you could also get a bigger water dish.
I would also recommend talking to your mother and explain that you know she doesn't have to this but it is very imporant that........... and all the other stuff that needs to be discussed. :) Hope that helped.
