It did thicken up after a while, and yes I mixed it by volume (mixing that tiny amount of food by weight would have been a PAIN! LOL). The cresties will take it if offered on the finger, but they have yet to get it from the bowl. I'm not really worried about them, working in a shelter has taught me that no animal will starve itself to death because they get a change in diet. The food really does smell good (I'm tempted to try some myself LOL). Thanks for the quick responce Allen!
