YOU need to follow up on that, I realize that you are young and have limited resources, so follow up on those ideas.......ask your parents for advice on what they think might be best, I dont know about converting a glass aquarium, sounds like a good bet unless you really know what you are doing you are heading for a trip to the E.R..............
I personally would try the classifieds...
I have looked at ebay and the problem I saw was that alot of people are in california and either they want you to come pick it up or the shipping charges would make it not such a good deal.
garage sales are also a good idea, many newspapers have their classifieds on line for free, try there..
