OK everyone,

I am looking for some feedback from the experienced Rhac. breeders out there. I am gathering information for the new book that Philippe de Vosjoli and I are trying to finish up for publication next summer (it takes forever)It will be an AVS publication like the Bearded Dragon Manual.

I'm trying to get some information to make sense of chromatic
polymorphism in ciliatus and auriculatus.

Right now, I am specifically looking at the stripe trait in R.auriculatus. I need feedback on the following questions.

In R. aruiculatus..

Striped x Striped... what does it produce...

All stripes, a percentage of stripes, all mottled?

Striped x Mottled.... all stripes, a percentage of stripes, all mottled.

Mottled x Mottled.. all Mottled, a percent Mottled and a percent Striped, All Striped.

If the answers are percentages, please elaborate on estimated percentages for each situation.

Do you see one trait or the other to be Dominant, Recessive, Co dominant, don't have a clue :) Feel free to comment on anything relating to this subject that you wish.

The more feedback, the better the book!

Some of these questions have obvious answers, some do not. Please let anyone know that is experienced with breeding this species that I would like to gather feedback.

Please only answer questions that you are quite sure about and give examples.

If you don't know, don't answer, and more importantly, don't guess. this is for publication.

Most importantly, please DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS ON THIS FORUM !

Not because it is a big secret or anything, it is just that I do not want answers from one person to influence others. I want your personal opinion, and do not want any second hand answers either. Please do not send me info that someone else has given you. tell them to email it directly to me so I can give them credit.

Post a reply to this message letting others know that you are sending me info so others follow... that would be cool...

I will make the results available to those who send info as I digest it and write it up...the rest of you will have to wait for the book :)

Thanks in advance.. Allen

more questions later, if this works...
