My crested is barking??NO female eiher??

OKay..Why is my male crested gecko barking, while more like a sneeze-bark. I know it is some kind of mating call, but I though they only made this noise when there was a female around (NO female). Drako is about 7 months. I remember a while ago I put him up to a mirror and he made that exact same noise. Most of the time he is in my hands when he does the sneeze-bark. Occasionally I hear him at night in his terrarium, but he does it mostly with me. What does this mean??
