:Just alittle input here, but I have always used vermiculite but had a VERY hard time finding any so I sucked it up and got some perlite (no one ever told me it was snowy and powdery as hell) but I just played it by ear and 3/4 of the way filled a 4x4x3 ziplock container with 2 holes caddy-corner of the container. It absorbed differently then I was used to (vermic thing) and just added water so it was damp all the way through (roughly 1.5:1 or so) and then just added 1/8 inch of water to the bottom. It's been perfect, I get no condensation on the top, but get it on the sides without the holes punched through.
:I keep an entire room with all my gekcos (12x12 room) heated with a space heater at 78 and drop it to about 72-73 at night. I open the container sometimes once a day or every other to allow fresh air and the eggs are firm and plump nice and white.
:Don't know if that helps ya but if I get just alittle condensation in a contain I know the humidity is just fine.
