:well, the fact that you just popped the lid off and apparently you werent being as cautious as you could have been if the snake could've just jumped out. also, you dont need to be such an ass and come back all defensive. i want making an atttack at
you,.

First off, your being the rude one by name calling. The plastic container was already placed on the bottom of the snakes enclosure. It was my intention to make the snake "jump out" of the container (of course "jump out" wasn't meant in a literal sense, the snake didn't actually jump, it just quickly exited the container). Again, it's ironic, but the task of removing the plastic container with metal tongs (even though it was a fairly harmless hatchling, you shouldn't get use to dropping your guard against any venomous reptile), again made it difficult to prevent the accident as I couldn't remove the container quickly enough. It wasn't careless towards my own life at all, as I wasn't in a position to get bitten, but obviously in the end it was careless towards the snakes life.

The point of the post was just to explain to the original poster that accidents happen and you learn from them, that's life. I wanted to hurry and put the snake away and at the same time didn't consider the possibility of the little snake getting caught in the tape, just like the poster probably never thought that the duct tape could be a problem. I didn't mean to come across too defensive. If I did, it was because in one sense it was a terrible experience to go through and also that I don't like to be branded as a careless venomous keeper. There's enough careless venomous keepers out there already and everyone that makes a careless mistake and get's bitten, will up in the news. Which is just gonna help pass legislation to ban venomous sp, along with dangerous Invertebrate, Monitors, Crocodilians, large Boas and Pythons, and anything else that people could deem dangerous.

Sorry, if I came across harsh, I just needed to explain and defend myself. Sorry if I offended you.
