:Okay I'm not a newbie but I am new to crested geckos or any gecko for that matter. I have my cage, it is 2 feet tall by 18 inches square. I am planning on filling it with live plants and I will put papertowels on the bottom. I know that I need someplace for the gecko to hide, but I am not sure what else should go in the cage. I read somewhere that cresties don't need any special lighting, is this true? Any other suggestions would be appriciated.

:Thanks in advance
:Dawn

Hi Dawn. Yes crested geckos are very nocturnal and don't require UV lighting, but if your gonna have live plants in your cage, your gonna need a couple full spectrum fluorescent lights anyhow (unless you plan on keeping them next to a window). A few nice full plants should provide enough shelter for the geckos, but if you wanna give them an additional hiding spot, you could provide them with a small piece of 4" PVC pipe. Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy keeping cresteds.
