Do you expose plants to direct sunlight??

my plants seem to be dying (slowly) and im wondering is it becuz i dont expose it to direct sunlight. i dont have a UV light or anything like that so in the day time i move the tank to the brightest room in my house near the window (but still not exposed to Direct sunglight) plant experts plz come to my rescue!!
