Dr. Aaron Bauer of Villa Nova University seemed to indicate that all captive populations of ciliatus came from the Ille Des Pines, not from the Grand Terre. This would suggest that all captive specimens are descended form that line...so I think the variation in size could be another polymorphic tendency as opposed to locality (unless there is alot of microhabitat diversity in those schlerophyll forests...)
