He must have just missed that piece, they usually eat it all. My little ones are about 3 months old and have shed at least 4 times each in the past 2 and a half months, maybe even more, so it's pretty frequent for babies. Mine are piggly wigglys and growing like little weeds. I don't know how old yours is. Adults would shed less, don't know the frequency as I just got my first adult and she hasn't shed yet. I took a whole series of pics of one of my little ones, Puff, shedding and put together a web page with the pics. Click on the link below if you want to see them. I'll post a couple of the pics here too, but it's really worth checking them all out.
