:That ambient is still to low. The geckos will do much better and thrive at an ambient of 75-77F 24/7. We use an oil filled radiator to heat the room to those temps, cheaper and safer then all those bulbs. If you can, def go with a space heater. As for the substrate we really don’t like to use anything loose. Our guys are on paper towels with bowls, just safer that way. However using a bowl with the loose sub will dramatically reduce the risk of them accidentally ingesting any of it. Pinching the legs all depends on the size of the bowl. We use medium size dog crock and usually pinch one of the legs off to prevent any escape.
