Yeah, they are 4 grams! My friend got them in September as babies, so I am assuming they are that old. I will check their joints, they are so small and delicate looking I don't try to mess with them too much. They do shake a little when they walk. I have treated igs with MBD at a vet clinic I worked at for a while and they would seizure sometimes so I am not discluding that. Thank you so much for your advice, I will feed them what you said and keep you updated!! I am really falling for these guys, already looking into getting some more!!
Here is a pic so you can see how small they are:
:Are you sure the geckos are 7-8 months? At that age they should at least be 20-30 grams and from the pictures you showed they looked larger then 4 grams. Are their joints rubbery or skulls soft in other words any signs of MBD? I am glad you are feeding them the way I recommended to you. The method that the previous owner used was just cruel, unnecessary and not to mention it would have caused severe stress and possibly harm. Anyway you still need to add protein using meat baby food with the peach. Crested geckos can not be sustained off just fruit. Fruit just contains sugar which is used for energy. However they still protein to build all the machinery of the body. After all what good is the energy if you dont have the equipment to use it? It sounds like you are doing a great job so far, just include the meat in a 1:2 (meat to fruit) ratio with a good quality reptile multivitamin. As far as temp goes, raising it a few ideas would prob be a good idea. Try using a low wattage black bulb, maybe around 40watts. If it is still to hot, hook it up to a dimmer switch so you can regulate it more accurately. Good Luck
