It's like he gets all worked up around the female and then when she walks away he doesn't know what to do so he just licks it and then it goes back in soon enough.

I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens.

:Sorry that I can't give you any advice, or answer your questions but congratulations. You've been working with these animals for quite some time and I'm happy you finally had some success. As for the male's "junk" hanging out, I don't think it's normal for one or both of his hemipenis to be hanging out even after copulation. If it hasn't gone back in within 5 or so hours, I would suggest consulting your vet. If you can't get him to a vet soon, then try soaking his lower half in sugar water. Or put a small amount of sugar water in a bowl that he can't get out of and have him soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
