I agree that a solid blue crested most likely will not be produced, but I do think that with a "grey/blue" crested, you may be able to produce a more pronounced faded blue look. I agree that one blue species is the blue tree monitor, but also what about panther chameleons, especially the Nosy Be locale. Some are solid blue or turquoise, but if I remember correctly, chameleons my have different pigments and similar things in their skin to make this possible.
