:Here is what i think... I would say go with the one you could look at everyday and be facinated by. I Own both and they are great.
:There are some differences though. For example the Ciliatus are more active at night and there are some really cool morphs out there. The Aurics are calmer and easier to handle and its been my experience that they are a bit more vocal.
:On the other hand cresteds can be kept in trios 1:3 while gargoyles tend to be a bit more agressive to each other even females to females, and should be kept in pairs if breeding. I also think you should do as much research as possible to find out what the experts have noticed.

:The bottom line is this... both can be rewarding animals to own. It really comes down to which sounds better to you. So I say whatever you choose i think you will be happy. Good luck! :)
