He and the vice provost of life sciences at my university, Kraig Adler, are friends (Kraig Adler actually has the largest reptile library in the world...and did some of the plates in the book). So Bauer came to Cornell to give a lecture to the Herp Society and i met him as soon as he arrived on campus and got to have a 1 on 1 chat with him...very cool guy, even with the jet lag from his previous trip to South Africa.
