Normally they polish off their fruit/meat mix. And they have allways been big fruit eaters and not so much insect eaters...but lately they haven't been eating the mix as well as I'ld like and the weight issue has me worried. So back to smelly, hard to keep alive crickets. I am going to try the roach thing though...at least if they wont eat them I know my leo's will (they snap up any insect that is unfortunate enough to get close to their mouth). I'm just stumped as to why they did so well for so long and now the sudden downturn. And they arnt sick...they just seem to not like the food anymore. Oh well, I know my husband has an over ripe peach in the fridge I can steel, and we have some browning banana's that need to be used. The fresh fruit and crixs should get them eating like old champs in no time.
I'm hoping Allen's diet will be out soon, they ate that like it was crested icecream. I guess I just got used to being lazy with that diet. You know...mix it with a little water...every once in a while throw in some crikets for some exercise and a treat.
(Oh...and if your wondering what I feed the leos, they get mostly butter worms with crixs every so often and mealies. The butter worms have the same nutritional content as crix but they can be kept in the fridge. Unfortunatly my cresteds wont touch them or I'ld just use those.)
