The only way that I've successfully posted pictures are from the ks gallery. I'll give you my steps to do so:

Make sure the pic is uploaded to the gallery

Pick the picture size that you want to post, by clicking it in the gallery it will get larger.

Once you have the desired size, right click the photo, and then choose the option called "copy image address..."

Then, go to the post you're making and simply right click and paste the address.

That should be all of the steps you need. As for taking pictures from a webstite, you can do the same process. Right click and copy image address, the only problem with taking pics from a site is that you have to recognize them so you aren't infringing on their copyright protection.
