When my cresteds sleep, the "eyelashes" are kinda down and flat, and the eyes appear alittle smaller, also the pupil is a tiny slit. (no eyelids)

When they are awake the "eyelashes" stand "up" and stick out! and the pupil can look really large depending on the lighting at that moment.

It took me awhile to figure out when abby was awake and when she was asleep.

of course she spends most of her time amongst the leaves of her tree, and if you can find her she is positioned so she can "peer" thru the leaves to see us, but you have to bend over in a weird angle to see her, and she loves to play the "evasive" game with us sometimes, and then just climbs up to the top of the tree to "visit" with us.

Because Jesse is so much larger than Abby its MUCH easier to see the asleep/awake eyes...he is amazing, I still feel so sorry for him losing his tail........it was a magnificant tail!

:I have never noticed this in my cresteds, but mike cosia said that that happens to his cresteds too when they sleep

::I just noticed this when got home today but my cresteds eyes were sort of sucked in. She, when I picked her up put her eyes back out and started to walk around. Is this normal or should I have a vet check it out??
:: thanks
