The 20 gallon will be fine for an adult pair, even more so for a single animal. However since it is so tiny you might want to use a smaller cage. You will find that they feed much better, as it is easier for them to find their food and water. As he grows you can move him up. At his size he is prob only a couple of months old, so you got a ways for breeding. At 14 months he/she should be ready. To answer your other question, yes it is possible to get fires back if you breed to a normal. Crested geckos are polymorphic, so you never know what you are going to get. Good luck with the new addition…get ready to want more -=)
