In Reply to: I have ONE egg! emale was still laying when I woke up. posted by Gecko2525 on January 15, 2003 at 12:17:14:

I watched her for a bit last night. It was very interesting, but I had to go to bed. I woke up at about 8:30am and she was still sticking her head in the husk. So I went back to sleep and when I woke up see wasn't there anymore so I carefully removed dirt and when I was just about to give up. There is was bright white in the husk. I carefully took it out with a spoon and placed it in my egg box for incubation. Then freaked out!!! The eggs are a lot larger then I thought. This one was 7/8" Is that right? Anyway so I searched for the other one. I took out all the dirt. Nothing only one egg, which is better than nothing to me. So I put it back in just incase she wasn't finished.
**Has a female ever layed her eggs in two different days??**
She was still digging around after she layed the first. This is only her second clutch so maybe she will lay the other tonight.
I looked at the egg closely. The top part of the egg was kind of flat (length part). Everything else was cool. Great round edges. Does that flat part mean it isn't going to do so well??
My first egg!! So exciting.

Thanks everyone for your help,
Liz

I keep you posted.
