That's a good idea. I will just tape a piece of paper with the eggs numbered that way. I have a record book that takes care of all the other info like, lay date, successful?, hatch date etc.

:I would mark the container you put them in (date laid, female they came from etc.) marking the eggs isn't a good idea in my opinion just because why bother taking the risk doing anything to them that might harm them.
