I have noticed sometimes my cresteds think they can jump further then they really can. I normally catch them mid air though.
One of my females has a hard time holding on to things. She has no grip on my arm or other surfaces, unlike my male who is like a monkey, I think she is just too fat/heavy though. LOL Maybe he wasn't use to being handle as much and doesn't know how to hang on very well. That could be it or it could be like what everyone else said about the shedding....that also happens with my cresteds.
