Yeah, I saw the ornatas. They are really cute, like minis of the gieko commercials. I had the same concern about the substrate, but after speaking to Eric and Paul about it i'm not worried at all. Paul raises all his crested babies on it and claims to never lost one from doing so. I trust there word because of the experience they have. Besides, i'm raising them on a baby food diet. I also picked up an unrelated pair of Breeding size cresteds from steve. The female is really nice, i will have to get some picks up as well.

:Nice pair Bill. I picked up a 4 month old PI leachie from PMHerps. Plan on getting one from Eric next, hopefully they will turn out to be a nice unrelated pair. Tracy got a P.ornata (very tiny and cute day gecko). We also rescued two baby aurics, which were badly in need of our attention. So we just had to buy them and help the cute little guys out. I will try and post pics later.
:As for the substrate Bill I really would not use anything loose. I have always raised my Rhacs on bare bottoms or paper towels. I find it much safer esp for the little ones. The adults still get the paper towels in addition to being feed from bowls. They are just to clumsy when hunting and feeding….lol. Good luck with them.
