I was just wondering what your hatch-rate/success was.

Mine is not so good! This has been my first season breeding cresteds- and after having great success breeding leos, I am surprised that my hatch rate is not so good.
I have incubated 4 eggs. 1 hatched successfully, 2 have incubated all the way through, however, failed to hatch (died as fully formed inside the shell). The final one is still incubating.

Is it difficult for the cresteds to get out of their eggs? I noticed (at least with mine) that the shells are much tougher than those of the leo eggs.

Could it be something that I am doing wrong that is resulting in the poor hatch rate?

Any advice welcome,
Best wishes,
Pauline
