crested and babyfood

my crested (about 3 1/2 months) doesn't seem interested in the babyfood i have offered him. i've tried banana and apricot. the temp is about 76 in the day and drops to about 68 at night. i have offered it on a jar lid and from my fingers. the only way he will eat it is if i wipe some on his mouth, and wait for him to lick it off. any ideas?
